Description
The International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 prescribes heat treatment or fumigation for all wood packaging used for both imports and exports outside the EU.
Packaging that complies with ISPM15 is marked accordingly.
A particularly problematic organism is, for example, the Asian stem woodworm, which can cause the death of healthy trees within a few years.
Fulfillments of the professional operator registered with the RUOP for the activity of production or marketing of IPPC/FAO LABelled PACKAGING
Pursuant to paragraph 1 of art. 6 of Ministerial Decree 27/07/2022 no. 333987, "Professional operators registered with the RUOP, in carrying out their activity [...] are required to comply with the fulfilments listed below:
(a) to indicate the RUOP registration code on the administrative documentation concerning their company (letterhead, invoices, delivery notes, stamps, etc.)
b) allow the staff of the Regional Phytosanitary Service, access to the production sites, not to carry out agronomic and phytosanitary practices that prevent the technical staff in charge from carrying out the control activities within the agreed timeframe
c) keep at the farm or farm centres, and exhibit at the request of the staff in charge of the controls, a copy of a valid document of availability of the land or facilities (land registry view or rental or use contracts or other equivalent documentation), if applicable
(d) have, and produce on request of the staff in charge of the controls, copies of any supply agreements, service agreements or contracts of multiplication and other contracts and services for the performance of the activity'.
