Description

A society can be all the more welcoming the more each of us is aware of the importance of caring for one another. This care does not mean welfare dependency, but rather expresses consideration.

We would now like to encourage this kind of care by inviting you to watch a series of videos on the subject of disability.

Starting with the legal framework, the first five videos explore specific disabilities (motor, sensory and intellectual), describing their characteristics and the historical initiatives that have driven cultural change. These videos aim to adopt an inclusive approach, seeking to remove all kinds of barriers and guarantee the right to take charge of one’s own life. They analyse challenges and solutions to promote participation in community life, highlighting potential and everyday strategies.

This project is closely linked to the legacy that the Olympic and Paralympic Games aim to leave behind, with a view to improving the communities in which they are hosted.

The videos were conceived and produced for the Autonomous Province of Trento in collaboration with TSM – Trentino School of Management.

At the bottom of the page, you will find a short film resulting from a project promoted by the Trentino Integrated University Health Authority (ASUIT), in collaboration with the Franco Demarchi Foundation, as part of the provincial initiatives dedicated to people with autism spectrum disorder. The protagonists are four young people on the autism spectrum who have shared their journeys and their daily lives.

We hope the public will respond positively to this cultural awareness initiative, and we hope you enjoy watching it!
