Description
Women represent an indispensable resource for the economic and social growth and well-being of our territorial communities, but their participation in the labour market is often below their potential.
With this in mind and in line with the results of the study"Women's Entrepreneurship in the Euregio", the Trentino Presidency promoted the project "Territorial Development: Women's Dimension", which aimed to look at the opportunities, challenges, but also successful examples of female entrepreneurship in the Euregio.
Main objectives
- To give visibility and enhance the talent and innovative capacity of women entrepreneurs in the Euregio
- To favour the identification and exchange of experiences and best practices
- Create opportunities for (in)training and experiential seminars on relevant topics
- Spread the values of entrepreneurship and work among the female population and in particular among the younger generations, also by presenting positive models to follow
- Raise awareness of the need for more innovative female enterprises
Partnership
The project was carried out by a partnership between the Euregio and bodies and actors from the three territories in the economic sector: for the Trentino side, the Department of Economic Development, Research and Labour of the Autonomous Province of Trento (delegated for its implementation), Trentino Sviluppo SpA, Agenzia del Lavoro and the Chamber of Commerce-Business Academy; for the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, the Department of Economics and, for the Land Tyrol, the Department of Economics, Digitalisation and Science in collaboration with Standortagentur Tirol.
Training path and award
Among the proposed initiatives is a new training course for new and aspiring female entrepreneurs in the Euregio on topics such as leadership, business plan and economic-financial aspects, and strategy. At the end of the training course, the participants were able to apply for the 'Territorial Development: Women's Dimension' Award, which aimed to enhance the innovativeness of a new female entrepreneurial project. In addition to a cash prize, the winners were offered a period of accompaniment to the business activity at the incubators.
The course consisted of 47 hours of group training (in the presence of the 3 territories and online) to which were added hours of self-study (5 didactic videos) and individualised training moments.
Among the applications, received by 11 May 2023, a Euroregional jury selected 69 project proposals from Tyrol, South Tyrol and Trentino.
On 25 May 2023, at Trentino Sviluppo in Rovereto, the participants in the call for proposals met for a first information meeting, to share together the next steps of the process and to start networking among themselves.
The first topic addressed, both online and during the meeting in Innsbruck, was "Business Strategy" with Professor Andrea Stefani, expert in Strategic Planning processes and tools.
The second in-person training session was held in Bolzano. On this occasion, the participants were also able to find out what initiatives and opportunities the various territories make available to support the establishment and development of enterprises, especially those led by women.
The third face-to-face meeting in Rovereto explored the topic of soft-skills.
