Securing the S.S.12, new hospital in Ravina

The S-1032 work consists of the construction of a temporary road to guarantee traffic flow along the S.S.12 during the period of time necessary to reorganise the junction on the S.S.12 at the Ravina bridge.

The new road will be built on a three-lane platform, one southbound and two northbound. Next to the road embankment all the underground utilities passing through the area will be laid to free the construction site from their presence.

The work on the S-1032 project is preparatory to securing the current route of the S.S.12 and to the construction of the new bridge over the Adige to replace the existing one, which presents significant problems of hydraulic compatibility.

The area freed from the passage of the S.S.12 - Trento city bypass, will therefore allow the construction of works S-602 and S-944.

Work S-602 consists in the construction of a subway with two lanes in each direction and a roundabout on the surface with a radius of 50 m, which will allow, by means of connecting slip roads, the efficient routing of traffic coming from the S.S.12 and S.P.90 (across the new bridge over the Adige river) and towards the future area of the new Trento city hospital. The work also includes the improvement of the mouth of the Torrent Fersina to reduce the interference between the two currents that join together, the reprofiling of the left bank of the river with the construction of an embankment road and arrangement of the bicycle path, as well as the construction of a new access road for the houses in the area, which, following the road reorganisation of the area, will no longer be able to access directly from the ring road, but will have to access from the inner side.

The work S-944 relates to the reconstruction of the Ravina Bridge over the Adige along the S.P.90 'Destra Adige'. In order to carry out this new work, which is the responsibility of PAT's Road and Railway Works Service - Road Structures Office, it is in fact essential to clear the section on the left river side of the S.S.12 in order to set the new bridge abutment.
