Description
Research-action and expert support for an increasingly innovative school
Implementing body IPRASE - Provincial Institute for Educational Research and Experimentation
Project code 2023_2_f2_01a.01
Expected completion by 31 December 2028
Amount financed € 5,500,000.00
Priority 2 "Education and training", specific objective f), example action f.2) "Ongoing training addressed to teachers and other operators of the Trentino educational system with the aim of adopting contemporary approaches to teaching, learning and governance of the educational systems in line with the innovations in the pedagogical field, as well as on those determined by digital and technological developments that support schools in responding to the evolution of the educational demand, with a special focus also on foreign language learning, also through mobility and exchange programmes with foreign countries, aimed at increasing the number of language certifications obtained by teachers".
Aims: The project envisages the realisation of research, research-action and expert accompaniment initiatives addressed to all the educational and training institutions of the Autonomous Province of Trento and to all the operators therein. The specific nature of the education and training systems, as organisations providing training services with a high cultural content, requires an approach to educational research based on the direct involvement of the players (teachers, first and foremost) and on the identification of "ad hoc" solutions that respect contextual peculiarities. Hence the orientation of this project in characterising the research paths in a research-(form)action perspective, closely integrated with the professional development paths proposed in the framework of the ESF+ Programme 2021-2027 (see Project In-service training and professional development for a fair and quality school): a perspective centred on the research-action paradigm seen as an opportunity for professional development for the school operators involved, as well as an opportunity to enhance knowledge of school systems and their functioning and to contribute in bringing in elements of innovation.

Aims: The project envisages continuous and ongoing training activities aimed at all school staff. The activities presented here are in close complementarity with what is contained in the Project Research-action and expert accompaniment for an increasingly innovative school, based instead on research, research-action and expert accompaniment actions addressed to all provincial school and training institutions. The aim is therefore to contribute to improving the quality of the provincial education and training system through the implementation of continuing education and professional development activities for those working in it, focusing on the following areas
(a) the most contemporary approaches to teaching, learning and governance of education systems;
b) the most recent innovations in pedagogy brought about by digital and technological developments;
c) the focus on the quality and equity of the educational processes, so as to foster an inclusive school that guarantees equal access and completion of the training and education pathways undertaken for each and every person;
d) the most recent indications of the European Commission and provincial legislation on education for sustainability to form citizens capable of understanding, preventing and resolving environmental crises.
