Description
The west bank of Trentino, under the responsibility of the extraordinary commissioner, Engineer Francesco Misdaris, consists of the section from the Sottopasso del Ponale to the border between Trentino and Lombardy, divided into the following functional units:
- U.F. 1.2: Sottopasso del Ponale - Orione tunnel
- U.F. 2: Orione Tunnel - Foce Ponale
- F.U. 3.5: Securing of rock walls
- F.U. 3.4: Foce Ponale - Titani Tunnel
- F.U. 3.3: Titani Tunnel - Gola locality
- U.F. 3.2: Gola locality - Limniadi Gallery
- U.F. 3.1: Limniadi Gallery - Trentino-Lombardy border
- U.F. 18: Torbole centro - Riva del Garda (via G. Cis)
The objective consists in the realisation of a new cycling infrastructure of national and international importance that allows the development of sustainable mobility, the promotion of the historical and artistic heritage, as well as the protection and enhancement of natural elements.
The element that characterises the project and makes it unique, particularly in the section under its jurisdiction, is the presence of the vertical rock walls overlooking Lake Garda, which brings with it, however, a great technical complexity, aimed at creating a safe route in an area that is problematic from a geological and landscape insertion point of view.
