Surveillance activities are planned in pest-free areas through multiannual programming that identifies EU-relevant harmful organisms in relation to the phytosanitary risk calculated on the basis of environmental factors, the presence of host species and possible routes of introduction and spread (e.g. import of susceptible plants or plant products).
