Description
Sport is the real star of the Euregio Sport Camp together with children and young people from the Euregio. By training together you will learn new sports disciplines and have the opportunity to discover your talent in one or another discipline. For the seventh time, the Euregio Tyrol-South Tyrol-Trentino, in cooperation with the sports offices of the three provinces, has organised a summer week - this year two shifts for 60 girls and boys each - of the three Euregio territories.
Due to the great success of last year's event, the sports week was once again held at the State Police Alpine Training Centre in Moena, Val di Fassa, the operational headquarters of the Fiamme Oro Sports Group's National Alpine Sports Sector Centre.
Due to the great demand, two rounds were proposed this year, from 10 to 17 and from 17 to 24 July 2022, for a total of 120 boys and girls.
Young sports enthusiasts with adequate basic physical fitness born in 2008-2009-2010 could register and participate in the Euregio Sport Camp.
Making friends
During this varied and action-packed week, we put special emphasis on group activities and meetings. In this way, new friendships are quickly formed across borders and possible challenges, such as language barriers, are overcome thanks to group activities and the support of Italian and German-speaking supervisors. Various excursions and interactive workshops with experts complete the Euregio Sport Camp offer.
Sport, games and fun at Euregio Sport Camp
The programme includes sports activities and training, theatre and culture workshops, and games. In particular, it was possible to try out some of the Alpine sports such as orienteering, rock climbing and ice skating. Cultural visits, nature walks, mountain hikes, a windsurfing course at Lake Garda, and fun activities such as five-a-side football, beach volleyball, e-biking, dragon boating, fly-lining and other fun games of yard and skill completed the programme.
Meeting sports stars
Participants had the opportunity to meet the champions and instructors of the Fiamme Oro sports group, train under their expert guidance, listen to their suggestions and learn about the motivation needed to become sports stars. Champions who have competed in major international sporting events, achieving podiums and victories at the Olympic Games, World Cup and European and World Championships.
