The European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) aims to support Member States and regions in achieving high levels of employment, equitable social protection and a skilled and resilient workforce, ready for the world of work of the future, as well as inclusive and cohesive societies aimed at eradicating poverty and realising the principles set out in the European Pillar of Social Rights.

The ESF+ Programme 2021-2027 of the Autonomous Province of Trento was officially approved by the European Commission with decision C(2022) 5852 of 8 August 2022 and by the Provincial Council with resolution no. 1810 of 7 October 2022.

The ESF+ 2021-2027 Programme of the Province has a total budget of 159,637,445.00 euros (40% of which is provided by the European Union, 42% by the Italian State and the remaining 18% by the Province) and focuses on the policy objective OP4 "A more social and inclusive Europe", within which the following priorities with related specific objectives have been selected

Priority 1 - Employment

SO a) To improve access to employment and activation measures for all jobseekers, in particular young people, especially through the implementation of the Youth Guarantee, the long-term unemployed and disadvantaged groups in the labour market, as well as inactive people, including by promoting self-employment and the social economy;

OS c) promote balanced participation of women and men in the labour market in terms of gender, equal working conditions and a better work-life balance, including through access to affordable childcare and care for dependent persons.

Priority 2 - Education and training

SO (f) Promoting equal access to and completion of inclusive, quality education and training, in particular for disadvantaged groups, from early childhood education and care, through general and vocational education and training, to tertiary level and adult education and learning, including by facilitating learning mobility for all and accessibility for people with disabilities;

OS (g) promote lifelong learning, in particular opportunities for upgrading skills levels and flexible retraining for all, taking into account entrepreneurial and digital competences, better anticipating change and new skills requirements based on labour market needs, facilitating occupational reorientation and promoting occupational mobility.

Priority 3 - Social inclusion

SO h) Promoting active inclusion, to promote equal opportunities, non-discrimination and active participation, and improve employability, especially of disadvantaged groups;

SO k) improve equal and timely access to quality, sustainable and affordable services, including services promoting access to housing and person-centred care, including in the health sector; modernise social protection systems, including by promoting access to social protection, paying particular attention to minors and disadvantaged groups; improve accessibility, including for people with disabilities, effectiveness and resilience of health systems and long-term care services.
