Description
The migration of the data and IT applications of individual administrations to a cloud environment makes it possible to rationalise and consolidate many of the data centres currently distributed throughout the territory, which are lacking in the minimum requirements of security, reliability, processing capacity, and efficiency.
At the provincial level, in line with the provisions of the three-year plan for IT in public administration and with the 'Cloud Italia Strategy', actions are planned aimed at the transition to qualified and sustainable cloud systems and services, based on hybrid and multi-cloud models, capable of guaranteeing high levels of performance and security.
The cloud migration strategy will have to
- On the one hand, define the guidelines for the implementation of new digital services according to the cloud paradigm, both in terms of architectures and the use of cloud solutions, and in particular SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions, and their integration with customisation components and with enabling provincial application platforms and services, where necessary.
- On the other hand, identify the best options for migration to the cloud with reference to the numerous application solutions in use today, considering, on a case-by-case basis, the value generated and the resources required to implement the migration.
The transition to the cloud also envisages the valorisation of the digital infrastructures of the Trentino public system, i.e. the networks, and in particular the Telpat fibre optic network that ensures ultra broadband connectivity for the Trentino public system and the provincial data centres, natively interconnected.
