Description
The aim of this action, carried out by the MUSE within the framework of the LIFE+TEN project, is to draw up precise guidelines for monitoring the various species and habitats of Community interest present in Trentino.
The periodic monitoring of species and habitats present in the sites of the NATURA 2000 Network and more generally throughout the provincial territory is an unavoidable requirement to implement their correct management but also to respond to the provisions of the relevant European Directives. It is evident how it is necessary to standardise and keep up-to-date the procedures with which monitoring is carried out in order to collect data in a standardised and methodical manner.
Expected results
- A specific manual, also in English, defining the most effective monitoring techniques for the species and habitats of Community interest present in Trentino. These techniques will have to meet the requirements of the Community Directives and at the same time interface well with the database referred to inAction A.1, so as to keep it constantly updated.
