Description
Hands and voices, poetry between matter and words: this red thread will unite the presence of the three historical language communities of Trentino on the occasion of their participation in the new edition of the Trento Film Festival.
A world of traditions and handicrafts that will be presented to the public, but also of words that resonate so far from our own experience: expressions of an ancient belonging, of a cultural identity that renews itself and becomes contemporary, but holding firmly to its own cultural roots, which inevitably also become ours.
This is what you will find on Saturday 2 May in the Festival 'Baita':
AURONA ORES JEWELS
Jewels, Legends and Ladin Land
Ores, Conties and Tera Ladina
With the participation of Carlotta Nemela and Katiuscia Rasom co-founders of Aurona Ores Jewels and the Ladin Cultural Institute 'majon di fascegn' - Ladin Museum de Fascia
From the encounter between Ladin culture, art and mountains, contemporary jewels are born, guardians of identity, language, territory and memory. A tale between matter and myth. Through stories, symbols and craftsmanship processes, the meeting accompanies the public into the heart of Ladin culture, where ancient legends, land and tradition take shape in contemporary jewellery, transforming the memory of a mountain people into an experience to be listened to and worn.
CIMBER WORDS
Börtar azpe biar
With the participation of Andrea Zotti, linguistic expert, and Elena Nicolussi Giacomaz, cultural historian of the Cimbrian Institute of Luserna / Kulturinstitut Lusérn.
An experience to discover the rarest and most poetic words of the Cimbrian language, one of Trentino's most precious cultural heritage. A linguist will guide the participants through sounds, meanings and curiosities, also recounting the history and origins of the Cimbrian people. At the end, a booklet with Cimbrian lemmas will be donated and it will be possible to request a personalised dedication, to be kept as a souvenir or for loved ones, as was the case in the ancient scribe's desks.
TALKING ROOTS: the Müchena language in the heart of the wood
BURZN AS KLÒFFEN: de inger sproch en hèrz van holz
With the participation of craftsman Marino Oss and the Mòcheno Cultural Institute / Bersntoler Kulturinstitut
Traditional craftsmanship contributes to the identity of a community. Together with craftsmen from the Mòcheno region, we will learn the techniques for making the typical zoa', the basket for picking mushrooms, and the schi'kòstn, the larder of yesteryear, revisited in a modern key. We will then dive into the world of more typically female crafts with the making of small pocket snuff boxes, de skatteler van tabak.
