Responsibilities and functions
The Provincial Planning and Landscape Commission was established by Article 7 of Provincial Law No. 1 of 4 March 2008 and is now governed by Article 5 of Provincial Law No. 15 of 4 August 2015 (Provincial Law for the Government of the Territory).
In particular, it is up to the commission
- upon request, express opinions to the Provincial Council on urban planning and landscape issues of particular relevance for the planning of interventions for the socio-economic development of the province, to ensure environmental sustainability and landscape compatibility
- at the request of the Provincial Council, to propose substantive solutions to new needs and problems of particular relevance to town planning
- express opinions on the resolutions of the Provincial Council in the cases envisaged by Provincial Law 15/2015
- to express opinions to the communities for the adoption of the CTPs
- express opinions and issue authorisations for landscape purposes for the works envisaged by Article 68 and Article 64, paragraph 1, letters a) and b) of Provincial Law 15/2015
- issue the additional authorisations envisaged by Provincial Law 15/2015.
