Responsibilities and functions
The Minorities Conference performs the following functions
- it defines the policy guidelines for the protection and promotion of minorities by verifying the state of implementation of the relevant legislation, also with a view to identifying new interventions
- it expresses a compulsory opinion on the programme of interventions for publishing and information as well as on the conventions and agreements referred to in Article 23, and a compulsory and binding opinion on the subdivision of the provincial fund for minorities; these opinions are disregarded if not provided within thirty days of the date of the request
- expresses agreement on the subject and modalities of the statistical surveys referred to in Article 5.
The conference is convened at least twice a year by the President of the Province. The operating procedures of the conference are established by a special regulation approved by an absolute majority of its members.
