Description and content
The Provincial Economic and Financial Document (DEFP), approved by the Provincial Council by June 30 of each year and presented to the Provincial Council, analyses the provincial economic and social context, outlines the public finance framework, and identifies, consistent with the guidelines and medium- to long-term objectives of the Provincial Strategy, the policies to be implemented for each strategic area of the Strategy over the three-year period of the budget.
In the autumn, by means of the DEFP Update Note (NADEFP) submitted by the Council to the Provincial Council together with the budget bill, the analysis of the economic and social context and of the provincial public finance framework of the DEFP is updated and the financial resources allocated to it are indicated for each of the objectives of the provincial Strategy, specifying the policies with an indication of the relevant interventions planned over the three-year period. DEFP and NADEFP are accompanied by the updated framework of statistical indicators.
