Responsibilities and functions
The Science Museum - MUSE carries out outreach activities with the support of a team of experts dealing with multidisciplinary research in the environmental sector, with particular attention to the themes of landscape, the effects of climate change and the evolution of the human-environment relationship. MUSE's research provides the community with useful elements for the conservation of ecosystems, the management of biodiversity and the enhancement of natural and cultural heritage. The Muse contributes to monitoring protected or endangered species and assesses the effects of climate change on mountain ecosystems (alpine, tropical and sub-tropical).
The museum, located in Trento in the complex designed by Renzo Piano, is organised in various thematically oriented sections: Lake Ledro Pile Dwelling Museum, Viote Botanical Garden of Monte Bondone and Terrace of Stars, Limnological Station of Lake Tovel, Museum of Geology of Predazzo.
