Responsibilities and functions
The institute is active in the field of minority language information through the publication in Cimbrian in local newspapers and monthly magazines and the broadcasting of the weekly television news on the Linguistic Minorities Television channel. The Kulturinstitut Lusérn is committed to documenting the language spoken in Luserna and offers courses and writing workshops. In the school area, it supports with its own operator the use of the Cimbrian language in the nursery school of Luserna and in the primary and secondary school it proposes an educational project in which, through artistic language, children discover the Cimbrian language, tradition and history. The Kulturinstitut founded and still promotes and supports the Luserna lace school, and a summer camp for children and a spilstube/youth room are also organised for the younger generation.
