Responsibilities and functions
The Service Centre for Violent Men offers men who want to change their violent behaviour the opportunity to undertake a group psycho-educational course.
The Centre acts with a view to prevention and reducing the risk of new violent behaviour and places the woman's safety at the centre of its work.
The services offered are:
- Prevention activities for men not involved in legal proceedings;
- Prevention activities for men perpetrators of violence investigated and not convicted of offences under Law No. 69/2019;
- Information and awareness-raising activities;
- Free group psycho-educational workshops for men not involved in criminal proceedings or involved and not yet convicted;
- Paid psycho-educational group workshops for men convicted of offences under Law no. 69/2019;
- Collaboration with judicial offices for the purpose of behavioural assessment of offenders;
- Monitoring the safety of partners or ex-partners.
