The Council of the Autonomous Province of Trento expresses its full satisfaction for the acquittal of President Maurizio Fugatti, in relation to the M90 bear culling affair. At the same time, the executive expresses its closeness and confidence in the head of the Trentino Forestry Corps, Raffaele De Col, and the manager of the Forestry Service, Giovanni Giovannini - who implemented the removal decree - and hopes for the same positive outcome. "The ruling confirms the correctness of the choices made and the full legitimacy of the Province's action," the Council stressed. Faced with dangerous situations related to problematic specimens, it is the duty of institutions to take responsibility for decisions, in the interest of citizens' safety'. With regard to the management of large carnivores, the Provincial Council emphasises the value of 'an approach based on competence, technical assessments and the ability to intervene, attentive to the protection needs of local communities'.
