During 2025, the presence of the Japanese beetle, Popillia japonica, was detected in the municipality of Brentino Belluno (VR), on the border with the Autonomous Province of Trento. As a result of this finding, a delimited area was set up, including portions of the municipal territories of Avio and Ala, in which to apply the phytosanitary measures provided for the eradication of the phytophage.
