"I had the opportunity to talk with the commander of the Arco volunteer fire brigade, Stefano Bonamico, with the president of the Federation of Trentino volunteer fire brigades, Luigi Maturi, and with the health councillor, Mario Tonina. What we are going to do, together with the health authority, is to change the regulation and provide for an exemption to be valid for every type of code for all Trentino Civil Defence workers who have to go to the emergency room after an intervention'. This was stated at a press conference by the President of the Province of Trento, Maurizio Fugatti, in reference to the case concerning the volunteer fireman from Arco who, having turned to the emergency room for an illness after an intervention in the area, found himself having to pay a ticket for a white code.
"We are sorry that these things happen, because we are talking about volunteers who were returning from an extraordinary intervention in the Arco area. We would like to apologise to all the volunteer fire brigades; now let us build a path together to ensure that these situations do not happen again,' the president wanted to clarify.
