In the early afternoon today, during the transport of waste from the 'Mantova' refuge to Vioz, in Val di Peio, an H125 (AS350B3e) in force at the Trento Fire Brigade's Permanent Helicopter Unit had to make a precautionary landing. In the course of the operation, the I-MRML vehicle lost part of the transported load. Thanks to the promptness and professionalism of the pilot, the manoeuvre was managed safely, without any further criticalities. The helicopter landed in the Dos dei Cimbri area, where it is now manned by the Peio volunteer fire brigade. As required by safety procedures, the technical mishap required the immediate suspension of the flight. Technical checks are underway on the aircraft to ascertain any damage and allow it to return to base.
The helicopter unit of the Trento Fire Brigade's permanent fire brigade carries out complex and never-to-be-discussed activities on a daily basis, alongside the Trentino community. High-altitude transport operations are part of the regular logistical support services.
