The award ceremony took place today at the European Parliament in Brussels.
In Brussels, at the European Parliament, in the presence of the Councillor for the Environment Mauro Gilmozzi, the Trentino Network of Reserves obtained the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism (CETS). The certification joins those already obtained by the Adamello Brenta Nature Park and the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Park. Obtaining this certification is also part of the Stelvio National Park's objectives.
"We are truly very satisfied," emphasised Councillor Gilmozzi, "to receive such an important recognition, which projects the protected areas of Trentino into an international dimension and rewards the entire community for the collective effort made over many years. This confirms the centrality of the environment theme both in the political and administrative agenda of the Autonomous Province of Trento and in the common sensibility. The protection and enhancement of the natural environment is one of the most important drivers for development today'. The Trentino delegation also included the Councillor for the Environment of the Municipality of Brentonico Alessandra Astolfi, representing all the networks. "I am proud," Astolfi said, "to represent the networks; an experience born from the community, citizens, economic operators, and associations, and which has become a project that has obtained such important recognition.
