Decision by the Giunta on the proposal of vice-president Mario Tonina.
On the proposal of vice-president and environment councillor Mario Tonina, the Provincial Council today approved the 'Unitary management plan for the Alto and Basso Sarca reserve networks', a fundamental planning tool for organising the information and knowledge available and planning actions to protect and manage the protected areas of the Sarca basin in a conservative manner, with particular attention to the Community values given by the Natura 2000 species and habitats present. The document also contains management indications to promote sustainable local development, with a view to cultural and economic enhancement of the natural heritage of reference.
"The Plan," Tonina underlines, "has already been preliminarily approved by the Conference of the Sarca Reserves Networks, the Consortium of Sarca-Mincio-Garda Municipalities, the 27 municipalities involved belonging to no less than three Valley Communities (Giudicarie, Valle dei Laghi, Alto Garda and Ledro) and the 16 Asucs that signed the Memorandum of Understanding after the positive opinion of the
Scientific Committee of the protected areas. It was therefore a path as complex as it was important, which had the aim of establishing a single Network of Reserves with the name of Sarca River Park: a great project, shared, for the enhancement of the territory'.
