    Apple Blight, Provincial Plan for the Containment of the Disease

    A provincial plan for the containment of the apple bark beetle pathogen. The document was approved by the council, following a proposal by the councillor for agriculture Giulia Zanotelli. "The plan," explains the executive member, "aims to introduce a new provincial discipline to guarantee an effective fight against the spread of 'scopazzi del melo' in the face of the choice made at EU level to no longer classify it among the harmful organisms subject to compulsory quarantine. This, ensuring continuity with what has already been achieved at provincial level in the past, but introducing a whole series of new elements capable of ensuring greater timeliness and effectiveness in action, in the context of an action that is strongly linked between public and private subjects'.

    Urban transport, advance payment of EUR 11.5 million for municipalities

    From Trento to Albiano, passing through Rovereto, Lavis, Arco, Pergine Valsugana and Mezzocorona. The ordinary urban public transport service covers large and less complex areas. The provincial administration - at the proposal of local authority councillor Mattia Gottardi - confirms its support for sustainable mobility through an advance payment to the municipalities in the area of over 11.5 million euros, equal to 50% of the amount of the 2021 transfers. Excluded from the advance payment are the funding for the experimental projects of the Cembra Community and the municipalities of Ville d'Anaunia and Predaia, for which the provincial contribution will be determined at a later date.

    Emigrants of Trentino origin, 5 scholarships for those under 28

    Five scholarships for the descendants of Trentino-born emigrants living abroad. The call for applications, which provides funding worth a total of €37,747.70 for the 2022/2023 academic year, was approved by the Provincial Council, at the proposal of the Councillor for Local Authorities, Transport and Emigration, Mattia Gottardi. The male and female students under the age of 28 who will be selected will attend three-year and five-year degree courses at the University of Trento. "The aim is to provide students of Trentino origin with a highly qualified education, while strengthening their ties with their ancestors' homeland. In this context, 13 students of Trentino origin from Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico are currently attending the University of Trento. In past editions, starting from the 2000/2001 academic year, the Province has awarded around 140 scholarships.
