"Today's was a first meeting, convened at short notice after the convergence of intentions reached in the Council and anticipated by President Fugatti. Being the first step, it is natural that others should follow'. This is how the provincial councillor for economic development, Achille Spinelli, responded after the criticism of CGIL CISL and UIL to the proposal illustrated today regarding the renewal of the civil service contract. 'We are the first in Italy,' Spinelli comments, 'to have reopened negotiations by committing our own resources, and I believe this should be emphasised decisively and honestly, since we are keeping our commitments. Obviously we did not expect the applause of the civil service trade union federations, but we are determined to achieve the goal in the interest of the workers and the Administration, considering that the quality and efficiency of the Administration passes through the right balance between the expectations and responsibilities of those who work there at various levels.
Obviously,' adds Councillor Spinelli, 'the general macroeconomic picture is not the easiest and the analysis of the Bank of Italy together with the latest estimates of the Chamber of Commerce confirm this. But it is right to react to critical phases with courage, confidence and determination. This is why I can say that today's was only the first approach and we will certainly have other opportunities to work even if we all have to be aware that the dynamics of expenditure are large and strong and it is very difficult to give a positive impulse to revenue flows'.
Lastly, Councillor Spinelli also confirms the Administration's commitment on the food vouchers front. "The Province is vigilant and attentive," he comments, "taking care that civil servants can have an adequate service and at the same time that companies in the sector can count on the efficiency of the mechanism.
