   Pilato and Quadarella, queens in the pool and in life

   The Great Beauty of the sixth edition of the Festival left its mark in Trento on the last day of the kermesse, which closed with a hint of melancholy, but also with great emotion. At the Filarmonica hundreds of fans welcomed Benedetta Pilato and Simona Quadarella, the two new queens of Italian swimming.    Zlatan Ibrahimovic: the 'divine' who made football history

   The last day of this sixth edition of the Sports Festival drew hundreds of people to Trento's Teatro Sociale for Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The queue of spectators started as early as eight o'clock in the morning, with many Rossoneri shirts waiting for the Swedish champion. He told his story, retracing the many teams in which he has played and letting himself go - respecting expectations - to some particular comments that drew laughter and applause. "I like challenges," added Ibrahimovic. Let's say I prefer to walk on fire than on water... which really only I can do'.

   Kevin Young: the obstacle course and the myth of the number 46.78

   Obstacle racing legend Kevin Young's story began with a trip down memory lane from his youth. In an interview conducted by Andrea Buongiovanni, journalist for the Gazzetta dello Sport, Young went through several highlights of his sporting career, culminating in 1992 in Barcelona with the achievement of a world record that has stood unbroken for a good twenty-nine years.    A legendary double today in the Sala Filarmonica, packed with fans who welcomed the queens of Italian tennis Flavia Pennetta and Francesca Schiavone. Cristina Fantoni, sports journalist and La7 anchorwoman, led the sparkling exchange of banter between the two, bringing the 'genius friends' to the Trento Sports Festival with naturalness and friendliness, earning more than one applause and a smile from the audience.

   What better way to promote padel than to involve champions of the world's most popular sport, football, as ambassadors? Said and done. The organisers of the Sports Festival, on the last day of the programme, had the fantastic intuition of bringing onto the field, in the rectangle set up in Piazza Fiera, some of the players who the previous afternoon had animated 'La Grande Partita' at the Briamasco, won by the Italian Postal Service on penalties.

The captain of the Italian national basketball team, Gigi Datome, transforms himself into a character from the comic book 'The Giant of the Court' and impersonates the coach of two young boys who dream of playing basketball. Datome teaches them to hold their own and strive in training, but also to develop courage and confidence in their teammates.

    Tortu, Patta and Rigali: full speed ahead to a memorable 2024

    At the 6th Festival dello Sport, Andrea Buongiovanni, journalist for Gazzetta dello Sport interviewed Lorenzo Patta, Filippo Tortu and Roberto Rigali, the Italian relay runners who, together with teammate Marcell Jacobs, won silver in the 4×100 relay at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest last August. It is a great new feat for Italian athletics, 40 years after the silver medal at the 1983 World Championships in Helsinki, that came in the wake of the fantastic performance of the Italian quartet with Tortu's incredible split and a time of 37″62.     'Objective3' promotes Inclusion with a docufilm and an international relay race

    Palazzo Geremia hosted the preview of 'Quello che manca' (What is missing), a docufilm that deals with the theme of sport and disability, highlighting three stories of three athletes from 'Obiettivo3'. This project to bring people with disabilities closer to sport was born a few years ago at the instigation of Alex Zanardi, who through his dream succeeded in profoundly transforming the perception of Paralympic sport.
    Eleonora Mele, Veronica Biglia and Gabriele Scalise, the athletes featured in the docufilm, told their stories, offering not only their own point of view, but also that of the people closest to them, companions, mothers and fathers. Their testimonies revealed the implications and consequences of unexpected events in life, such as illnesses or accidents, which inevitably come to disrupt everyday life.

    Italian Post Office 'cancels' football legends

    For the first time in six editions of the Festival of Sport, which is invading Trento with no less than 150 events, there was space for played sport thanks to 'La Grande Partita' (The Big Game) of football in a sold-out Briamasco stadium. Facing each other were the Festival Legends, with no less than seven world champions on the pitch, of which five Italians and two Brazilians, and the national team of Poste Italiane, coached by former Juventus player Angelo Di Livio.
    The outcome was decidedly unexpected, with success for the Poste Italiane's Gialloblù (the same colours as the Trento football team) team, which triumphed after a hard-fought match, dominated in the first of the two 30-minute periods, and decided on penalties.
