In the centenary year of his birth and on the day of the anniversary of his death on 15 December 1953, the Liceo Classico Giovani Prati of Trento commemorated the intellectual, politician and writer Rocco Scotellaro with the unveiling of a terracotta sculpture depicting him, created and donated by the artist Rocco Grassi. The ceremony was attended by the vice-president and councillor for education, culture and sport, family, youth and equal opportunities policies of the Autonomous Province of Trento Francesca Gerosa.
"A culture that wants to make our youngsters think about models of the future that are different from the present is fundamental," said the vice-president. "I want to imagine the Prati children dwelling on the few words that can be read behind this sculpture: 'I am one of the others', because it is true that seventy years have passed since his death, but the figure of this young author is still relevant today. It is important to make young people understand that their every thought, their every action, even small, that can contribute to drawing a different world is a value. Putting oneself at the service of others, approaching life and society in a humble and simple way is a good starting point'.
