The Permanent Population and Housing Census surveys continue, involving, as every year, a representative sample of households. In 2024, the households taking part in the survey, coordinated by Istat and carried out in Trentino by the Institute of Statistics of the Autonomous Province of Trento-Ispat, number almost 1 million in 2,530 municipalities throughout the country. At provincial level there are about 11,000 families in 50 municipalities. These are the so-called 'sample households', contacted by Istat, who have until 9 December to fill in the questionnaire online, but with the possibility (until 23 December 2024) of going to the municipality and filling in the questionnaire with the support of municipal operators, or of carrying out the interview at home with a surveyor appointed by the municipality.
