Special Protection Area - SPA
It includes the Adamello-Presanella granite massif, located in the western sector of the Adamello-Brenta Park.
The deep glacially modelled valley furrow traversed by the Sarca di Genova, defines and separates the two crystalline subgroups of Presanella to the north and Adamello to the south, moving westwards between narrow walls and steep slopes covered by thick deciduous and coniferous woods.
A prominent feature in the landscape of the Val Genova, one of the most typical and famous Alpine valleys of glacial origin, is the abundance of water and the high degree of environmental naturalness. There are numerous side valleys, all suspended with respect to the main one, and their watercourses give rise to waterfalls rich in water and of exceptional beauty.
