Travel pass for pensioners

Local public transport season tickets are available for urban areas (Trento, Rovereto and neighbouring municipalities, Alto Garda, Pergine Valsugana) or for travel throughout the province, and are categorised according to the pensioner’s household income.

Urban season tickets are available on a monthly or annual basis, whilst provincial season tickets are available on a monthly or half-yearly basis.

The attached fare schedule lists (in the relevant section) all season ticket fares for pensioners aged 60 and over.

People aged over 60 (who are not in work) can purchase public transport season tickets based on their income, in accordance with the fares set out in the fare schedule.

People aged over 70 (who are not in employment) residing in the Province of Trento are entitled to free travel, regardless of their income.

To obtain a season ticket or free travel, pensioners must obtain a special smart card.

The smart card must be applied for by submitting the relevant form attached to this page at a ticket office of Trentino Trasporti SpA or Trenitalia SpA (along with a passport-sized photograph).

The season ticket or free travel pass is loaded onto the smart card at the ticket offices of Trentino Trasporti SpA or Trenitalia SpA; the free travel pass for those aged 70 and over is valid for 5 years.

Season tickets can be renewed not only at ticket offices but also at the ATMs of the Casse Rurali Trentine.
