Description
This is a scheme through which female entrepreneurs, self-employed women and female professionals (hereinafter also referred to as ‘beneficiaries’) can arrange for someone to temporarily take their place in their work for reasons relating to pregnancy, maternity and child-rearing. The replacement may last for a maximum of 18 months, which need not be consecutive. Extensions or renewals of the scheme are permitted, subject to the maximum duration of 18 months.
The Employment Agency grants a subsidy of up to€25,000.00to cover part of the costs of the temporary replacement. The employment relationship established between the beneficiary and the replacement may be of an employed nature or, alternatively, of a self-employed nature, in accordance with the relevant legislation in force. In the case of a replacement on a self-employed basis, the appointment must be in writing, failing which the entitlement will lapse.
In the case of a replacement for a female entrepreneur, a company partner or a participant in a family business on a self-employed basis, the replacement must hold a VAT number with the same classification of economic activity, identified by the ATECO code, as that of the beneficiary of the scheme.
The relationship established must be compatible with the types of activities to be carried out and with the professional qualifications of the substitute.
The beneficiary is prohibited from carrying out work during the time slots 10.00–12.00 and 15.00–17.00. Any exceptions to the aforementioned time slots must be justified and authorised in advance by the Employment Agency. This prohibition does not apply during the first month of the replacement period.
Where the project involves a replacement under a part-time employment contract, the beneficiary is prohibited from working during the morning period from 10.00 to 12.00 or, alternatively, at the applicant’s discretion, during the afternoon period from 15.00 to 17.00. This choice must be specified in the grant application. Any changes must be notified in writing to the Employment Agency in advance. Any exceptions to the aforementioned time slots must be justified and authorised in advance by the Employment Agency. The prohibition does not apply during the first month of the replacement period.
More than one project may not be implemented simultaneously.
The grant is awarded only if the national call for applications provided for in Article 9(3) of Law No. 53/2000 has not been launched, and is paid as a de minimis grant.
The grant cannot be combined with incentives provided for under other European, national, regional or provincial regulations for the same event. For the purposes of this scheme, special social security schemes or contribution or tax incentives relating to recruitment are not considered to be incentives.
