Support for beekeeping – 2025 call for applications

This call for applications offers financial support to beekeepers in Trentino who wish to invest in their businesses, in particular to improve production, reduce costs, protect the environment and animal welfare, and contribute to the fight against climate change. This funding is for investments in agricultural holdings linked to primary production in the beekeeping sector. It is important to note that the conditions may change slightly in line with European Commission guidelines, but applications for 2025 are still being accepted.

Eligible expenses include the construction of premises for the processing, storage and marketing of bee products, or storage facilities for machinery and equipment used in beekeeping. Vehicles intended for the transport of goods and other specific beekeeping equipment are also eligible.
The aid intensity is 40 per cent. The minimum eligible expenditure per application is €10,000.00 (excluding VAT), whilst the maximum limit is €250,000.00 (excluding VAT).

Micro, small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises, whether sole traders or companies, are eligible to participate, provided they are beekeepers and meet specific requirements.

Key conditions include holding a valid electronic farm register, possessing title deeds for the land or structures covered by the scheme, having a certified email address (PEC), holding an agricultural VAT number, being registered in the Beekeeping Register (BDA) as an ‘ordinary’ business and have declared at least 70 hives in the 2024 beekeeping census. Those who have been required to repay revoked grants and businesses in financial difficulty are not eligible.

Applications must be submitted online via the provincial agricultural information system SRTrento at the following address https://srt.infotn.it, which can also be accessed via the portal https://a4g.provincia.tn.it/

You must be a registered user, and the application must be digitally signed.

The application requires various details, including land registry references (in the case of construction works), a declaration certifying that the applicant has not received any other public aid for the same initiatives and that the business is not in financial difficulty.

Various documents must be attached to the application, such as a technical report, the project plans, the bill of quantities, and, in some cases, three cost estimates from different and independent suppliers.

For the 2025 academic year, applications may be submitted from Monday 3 August to Wednesday 17 September 2025, no later than 1.00 pm.

The merit-based ranking of applications will be approved within 30 days of the closing date for submissions.

The final decision to award or refuse the grant will be communicated within 70 days of the ranking’s approval.

Reports on the initiatives must be submitted within 24 months of the date the grant is awarded.

A single, justified extension may be requested, for a maximum of a further 24 months, by the reporting deadline.
