Description
The service involved inmates carrying out social inclusion traineeships in the areas of gardening, vegetable and fruit cultivation inside the prison. Inside the prison, the inmates were involved in internships in vegetable cultivation (cabbage, beans, Savoy cabbage, white turnips, red turnips, courgettes, tomatoes, cabbage, salads, soft wheat, etc.) and landscaping and management. Two varieties of tolerant vines selected by the Edmund Mach Foundation and Civit (Vine Innovation Consortium) were also planted on an area of approximately 1,000 square metres, an opportunity to train the trainees in an activity that they will be able to carry out in the future in an agricultural work context outside the prison. The inmates involved then also participated in specific training courses and support moments for orientation and job search.
A similar project, through social inclusion and training and orientation traineeships, also involved persons in charge of the local Foreign Criminal Execution Office of Trento (ULEPE) and young adults (aged 18 and over) in charge of the Juvenile Social Service Office (USSM of Trento), with the carrying out of activities in the province in the following sectors: horticulture/fruit growing, green care, dyeing-laundry services and processing of ecological detergents.
