Description
A residential service providing temporary accommodation for pregnant women and parents with minor children who are experiencing difficulties in ensuring
their care, protection and upbringing. It offers support aimed at monitoring and developing parenting skills to
the child’s care and protection needs. The residential community is structured as a residential intervention with a primary focus on social care and protection, and is provided in dedicated facilities in a communal living arrangement.
Who is it for?
Households consisting of a parent with one or more children who are facing personal difficulties in ensuring the care, maintenance
and the upbringing of their child(ren). The children are aged between 0 and 12, with the possibility, as a general rule, of extending this to include older children
older children, provided they are still minors, in order to preserve family unity. Pregnant women, generally from the 7th month of pregnancy onwards.
Accessing the service
Access is granted upon referral by the local social services or the Valley Communities, following an assessment process that takes the form of
a framework plan, and/or upon referral by a public authority and/or by order of the judiciary. The application is then assessed by a committee comprising the coordinators of the residential facilities responsible for accommodating mothers and children and the designated provincial official.
