Revision Centre - Type 'B' and 'C' Module Inspector Qualification

There are two types of licence for authorised inspectors

• type "A-B" for light vehicles, which permits the overhaul of motor vehicles with a maximum capacity of 16 persons including the driver, i.e. with a total laden mass of up to 3.5t
• Type "C" for heavy-duty vehicles: permits the overhaul of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers with a total laden mass exceeding 3.5t, with the exclusion of those intended for the transport of persons, those intended for the transport of dangerous goods under ADR, and those intended for the transport of perishable goods under ATP controlled temperature conditions.

Authorised inspectors Type "A-B" and Type "C", licensed after 31 August 2018:

• must possess, in addition to the age of majority, certain competence and initial training requirements provided for by the State-Regions-Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano Agreement of 17.4.2019;
• they must sit specific examinations at special Commissions set up by the DGT in order to obtain the qualification;
• are subject to periodic training.

Authorised inspectors Type "A-B licensed by 31 August 2018:

• are subject to periodic training.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURES

The quiz examination for obtaining the qualification of authorised inspector for light vehicle inspection activities (training modules A-B) is structured on 60 questions in "true or false" mode to be solved in 40 minutes and is considered passed if the errors committed are no more than 4.

The quiz test for qualification as an authorised inspector of heavy vehicle inspection activities (training module C) is structured on 30 questions in "true or false" mode to be solved in 20 minutes and is considered passed if the errors made do not exceed 2.

The practical test involves the use of an overhaul line and a vehicle complying with the type of licence required and is aimed at ascertaining the ability to carry out the technical inspection of a vehicle and the use of overhaul equipment.
In the event of a negative result, the candidate may take the practical test again, subject to submission of an application. The new practical test may not be taken until at least one month has elapsed since the date of the failed test.

A certificate of aptitude will then be issued.

• candidates who, regardless of their place of residence, took the course at a training organisation based in Trentino.

Those who intend to take the examination must submit, during the period in which the deadlines open, a stamped application by filling in and sending the application online through the Citizen's Room, which can be reached by clicking on the button below, after identifying themselves by means of SPID (Sistema Pubblico di Identità Digitale), CIE (Carta d'Identità Elettronica), CNS (Carta Nazionale dei Servizi) or CPS (Carta Provinciale dei Servizi).

For inspectors' exam type 'B':

- the candidate's file consisting of:

1. copy of the qualification
2. certificate of attendance with profit at training courses;
3. documentation of experience in the areas concerning road vehicles (Article 2, paragraphs 5, 6 and 7 of the State-Regions-Autonomous Provinces Agreement of 17.04.2019)
4. copy of identity document;

The PAGOPA codes associated with the tariffs for enabling inspectors form type B:

1. certification of payment of stamp duty equal to euro 16.00 for exam application, rate N019 (Trento area);
2. certification of payment of the examination fee of euro 123.95 at tariff T073 (Trento area)

- the following payments may also be submitted after the successful examination

1. proof of payment of stamp duty of euro 16,00 for exam application, rate N019 (Trento area);
2. proof of payment of the fee for the issue of the certificate of competence amounting to € 5.16, tariff T088 (Trento area);

For type "C" inspector qualification examination:

- the candidate's file consisting of

1. copy of the qualification
2. certificate of attendance with profit at the training courses;
3. certificate of attendance with profit at the refresher course (persons already authorised or licensed as at 31.08.2018 to carry out periodic inspections of motor vehicles capable of holding a maximum of 16 people including the driver, i.e. with total laden mass up to 3.5, who have attended module C after 26.02.2022)
4. declaration pursuant to Art. 47 of Presidential Decree 445/2000 of "having carried out the courses in accordance with the regulations in force" if the course was held before 26.02.2022
5. copy of identity document;

- the following payments may also be submitted after the successful examination

1. proof of payment of stamp duty of euro 16,00 for exam application, rate N019 (Trento area);
2. proof of payment of the fee for the issue of a certificate of competence amounting to € 5.16, rate T088 (Trento area);

• 13 May 2025 - Submission of applications from 11 March to 11 April 2025;
• 28 October 2025 - Submission of applications from 27 August to 27 September 2025.
