M.E.T.A. - European Mobility, Traineeships and Learning

"M.E.T.A. - European Mobility, Traineeships and Learning" is a mobility project in European countries, financed by the Erasmus+ 2021-2027 Community programme, addressed to students in their fourth year of secondary schools (third year of four-year courses) and graduating students of the Trentino secondary education system and the Trentino vocational education and training system, both public and peer.

With M.E.T.A. - European Mobility, Traineeships and Apprenticeships it is possible to carry out a mobility traineeship abroad, in companies identified on the basis of the participant's preparation and/or personal and professional growth project.

For "Student" participants in the 4th (III) year, the project proposes a 4-week mobility in the period from mid-June to mid-August: placements will be activated mainly in socialising areas, in which participants can experience and develop their linguistic, transversal and socio-cultural skills first-hand.

For "Graduates" participants, on the other hand, mobility is planned for 16 weeks, in the period from August to December: placements will be aimed, where possible, at strengthening specific technical-professional skills as well as developing language, transversal and socio-cultural skills.

All participants must:

• be in possession of the ICEF "Family" indicator, for interventions in favour of families with children, equal to or less than 0.63 by the application deadline.
• have a minimum knowledge of English and/or German and/or Spanish and/or Portuguese (the latter only for "type A) student") of at least level B1
• not have participated in mobility for the same type of target group in the previous edition of the Erasmus+ M.E.T.A. project.

What actions are envisaged

1. Training for mobility: cultural and logistical preparation prior to the experience abroad
2. Internship in Europe: 4 or 16 weeks of internship abroad in companies and organisations, depending on the candidate's profile
3. One-day follow-up on return and certification of the experience

The project is intended to provide participants mainly with

• transversal skills (communication, relationship, teamwork, etc.)
• technical and professional skills (in the identified field)
• language skills, acted out in a professional and life context
• socio-cultural skills

Germany, Ireland (EU), Northern Ireland (UK), Malta, Portugal and Spain

All costs related to training, internship, tutorship, A/R travel, stay (accommodation and contribution to food), insurance and local travel abroad will be borne exclusively by the Autonomous Province of Trento, which will make use of co-funding from the ERASMUS+ programme.

The costs of visa application (if necessary), passport application (if necessary), Electronic Travel Authorisation - ETA (destination Northern Ireland), any health requirements for the assigned destination and for the return to Italy and all personal expenses will be borne by the participants.

Attendance and Participation Allowance

Each participant, with the exception of students for whom the placement is curricular, will be paid an attendance allowance of Euro 70.00 for each week of placement completed.

"M.E.T.A. - European Mobility, Traineeships and Learning" - Edition 2026, is aimed at

• students attending, in the school year 2025/2026, the 4th daytime year of the Trentino public and peer secondary education system or the 3rd year of the Trentino four-year pathways (4-week traineeships)
• school-leavers graduating in the 2025/2026 school year from the Trentino upper-secondary school system and from the public and officially recognised vocational education and training system (16-week traineeships)

Applications may be submitted by

• adult candidates
• parents of candidates who are minors
• guardians, curators or support administrators

The application must be submitted ONLINE.
The service will be active from 9 a.m. on 25 November 2025 until 12 noon on 19 December 2025.

Only the 140 applications received from "IV (III) year students" in order of decreasing ICEF "Family" and the 40 submitted by "Diplomands" also in order of decreasing ICEF "Family" will be taken into consideration for access to the selection.

Selection interviews

The selection interview is aimed at assessing

• linguistic knowledge, in the languages selected at the application stage
• aptitude and motivational aspects

Only for recipients 'Type B) Diplomats', the application, as an application to the Public Administration, must be submitted with a revenue stamp in the amount of EUR 16.00
