Law No 210 of 25 February 1992 - Compensation for irreversible health damage.

The Provincial Agency for Supplementary Assistance and Welfare (APAPI) is in charge of settling the compensation provided for by Law 210/92.

The Provincial Agency for Health Services of Trento (APSS), which follows all the part of ascertaining the causal link between the health treatment provided and the irreversible damage suffered by the applicant, if necessary, automatically forwards the request to trigger the payment to APAPI, providing all the personal and bank details of the beneficiary, necessary for the payment of the compensation due.

People residing in the province of Trento can submit an application to activate the health assessment procedure, on plain paper, to the High Specialisation Office of the Territorial Administration Service of the Provincial Agency for Health Services of Trento (contact: tel. 0461/902267 - 902797 - 902364 mail: ufficioaltaspecializzazione@apss.tn.it -distretto.centronord@pec.apss.tn.it - apss@pec.apss.tn.it).

The beneficiary does not need to submit any documentation to APAPI in relation to the initial stage of payment as it is activated ex officio.

Should it be necessary to update personal and bank details, it will be the responsibility of the claimant to contact the offices of the Provincial Agency for Supplementary Assistance and Welfare at Via Zambra 42 - Top Center 5 floor in Trento (tel. 0461 493255 from 9 a.m. to midday).

The first settlement takes place upon notification by APSS.

The Azienda Provinciale per i Serivizi Sanitari di Trento also takes charge of the dossiers of people, already entitled to compensation, who transfer their registered residence to the Province of Trento. After the necessary verifications, APSS authorises APAPI to pay the amount due, with effect from the 1st January of the year following the year in which the registered residence is transferred to the province.

APAPI sends a registered letter to the beneficiary's address of residence notifying the act of the Director by which the payment of the compensation due is first activated.

A copy of the decision of the Director of APAPI is attached to the notification letter.

Subsequently, APAPI informs Apss of Trento and the Department of Health and Social Policies of the Autonomous Province of Trento of the fact that it has taken charge.

APAPI provides quarterly notification to the Central Pension Register, managed by INPS, of all the data relating to the file and the periodic payments made.

At ministerial deadlines, the Single Certification is compiled for exempt treatments paid in the calendar year preceding that of issue.

The amounts paid are updated annually on the basis of the ministerial tables valid at national level, after notification by APSS Trento.
