Laboratory tests on steel

  • Active

Laboratory-certified tests on steel specimens (bars, mesh or profiles) valid for the purpose of site acceptance procedures or to assess the condition of an existing structure.

Description

Laboratory tests are standardised tests on steel specimens used to determine a specific material characteristic.

The following tests are available

- tensile strength (UNI EN 10002-1);

- elongation at break tensile test (UNI EN 15630-1);

- bending at 90° and straightening (UNI EN 15630-1);

- knot release resistance for netting (UNI EN 15630-2);

- resilience at room temperature and low temperature (UNI EN ISO 148-1).

In the case of concrete bars, the identification mark of the production plant will be noted beforehand.

Restrictions

In order to obtain a valid certificate pursuant to L.1086/71, the date and number of the sampling report must be stated, and the request must be signed by the construction manager.

Who it's for

Professionals in the construction sector working as project managers for structural works on public and private construction sites.

What to do

Fill in the 'General Enquiry' and 'Annex 2_Steel Tests' forms and hand them in at the acceptance desk of the Materials Testing Laboratory together with the specimens to be tested.

Special cases
