Description

In order to enrol in Advanced Vocational Training (AFP) courses, it is necessary to pass an entrance assessment.

The entry assessment consists of

  1. analysis of the documentary evidence produced by the candidate to recognise credits acquired through study or work experience
  2. performance of one or more written tests to check basic technical, technological and English language skills
  3. interview aimed at detecting interests, aspirations and motivations regarding the choice of training pathway, in order to personalise the pathway and the in-company training.

In the case of the dual apprenticeship pathways for advanced training and research, the entry assessment is also aimed at "matching" with companies willing to hire with a Level III apprenticeship contract.
For specific information on the entry assessment tests and enrolment in the individual advanced vocational training pathways, it is necessary to contact the implementing body of the pathway of interest.
At the end of the entry assessment, the Commission establishes a ranking list for access to the Higher Professional Training pathway.
It is possible to apply for admission to the entry assessment for more than one pathway by taking part in as many selections, depending on the time required to complete them.

Who it's for

Entry assessment is open to young people and adults who are in the process of acquiring or hold

  • a secondary school diploma (baccalaureate)
  • vocational education and training (IeFP) diploma and after having passed a test to ascertain common skills, taken after attending a 60-hour training course for the strengthening of Italian, English and mathematics skills
  • certificate of specialisation in Higher Technical Education and Training (IFTS).
