The call for applications is designed tosupport business investments that mitigate the impact of rising energy costs on the operating budgets of companies based in the province of Trento.   

What is funded

Support is available forinvestments in tangible and intangible assets commenced on or after 1 June 2026 and within 18 months of the date on which the grant is awarded

Specifically, the main categories of eligible expenditure include:

  • Buildings and similar assets
  • Plant, machinery, equipment and other assets
  • Software, patents, licences and know-how
  • Technical consultancy fees
  • Additional overheads (flat-rate)

Applications are assessed using an automated procedure.

The amount of the incentive

The incentive amounts to 30% of the expenditure deemed eligible under the Call for Applications.

The following increases are recognised; they cannot be combined (they arealternatives) and must be expressly requested in the application and confirmed at the time of reporting:

  • 10% increase: if the company recorded energy consumption costs in its 2025 annual accounts exceeding 30% of total production costs (Item B of the profit and loss account).
  • 5% increase: for companies that transfer the right to install aphotovoltaic system on their ownoperational premises to a Renewable Energy Community (CACER), an ESCO or an asset management company (SGR).

The incentive is granted under under the de minimis rule pursuant to Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/2831 of 13 December 2023.
   

Minimum and maximum expenditure limits

The minimum eligible expenditure must exceed 25,000.00 euros.
The maximum eligible expenditure is 500,000.00 euros.

   

Restrictions

Investment projects must commence on or after 1 June 2026 and be completed within 18 months of the date of the grant decision.

Further obligations are set out in the general provisions applicable to all projects and in the call for applications.

Who it's for

Small, medium-sized and large enterprises that meet the eligibility criteria, as set out in the Call for Applications and in the general provisions applicable to all schemes, andwhich are incorporated, registered and active in the Register of Companies by 30 November 2025. Entities using the simplified accounting system, including on an optional basis, are also eligible, provided the beneficiary makes use of the flat-rate income assessment scheme.

The enterprise’s main business activity must fall within the following eligible ATECO 2025 codes:

  • Section B: Mining and quarrying (all codes)
  • Section C: Manufacturing activities (all codes)
  • Section E: limited to codes 38 (Waste collection, recovery and disposal) and 39 (Remediation and other waste management services)
  • Section F: Construction (all codes)
  • Section G: limited to code 46 (Wholesale trade)
  • Section H: Transport and storage (all codes)
  • Section Q: limited to code 85.53 (Driving schools)

What to do

Each business may submitonly one application for the incentive ( which may, however, relate to one or more operational units). The application must be submitted to the Processing Body – the Provincial Agency for Economic Incentives (APIAE) – exclusively online via an IT platform that will be made available shortly.

Timeframes and deadlines

  • Time limits for the grant assessment process: the procedure for adopting the grant decision and determining the amount of the grant shall be completed within 60 days from the day following the closing date for the submission of applications  
  • Deadlines for completion of projects: projects must be completed within 18 months of the date on which the grant is awarded
  • Deadlines for reporting: expenditure documentation and the relevant supporting statements must be submitted within 6 months of the date of completion of the project 
  • Payment deadlines: the grant is paid in a single instalment within 60 days from the day following receipt of the expenditure report and subject to the submission of a declaration certifying compliance with all obligations and conditions that have come to an end.
