Employment services for people with disabilities and how to register

  • Active

The Employment Agency of the Autonomous Province of Trento, pursuant to Law 68/1999, promotes the employment of people with disabilities or disadvantages. On this page you can find out about dedicated job search services, requirements and how to register on the provincial list of people with disabilities.

Description

By contacting the nearest Employment Agency Job Centre, the disabled and disadvantaged person can benefit from one or more of the following targeted support services in the search for work:

  • Reception and information
At the Employment Centre the person is welcomed and can receive useful information regarding
    - the activities and types of employment policy interventions
    - employment opportunities in the private and public sectors
    - training paths
    - labour relations regulations
  • Guidance counselling
In order to support the person during the job search phase, in relation to the hypothesised project and on the basis of their work profile, specialised operators from the Job Centres carry out interviews, with the aim of reconstructing their personal and professional history, analysing any problems that may affect the definition of a work project, and investigating job search strategies. The operator decides and agrees with the person on the quantity and duration of the interviews.

For more complex situations, a network is promoted with the territorial Social and Health Services in order to activate customised interventions which, by integrating the information gathered by the various Services, can contribute to the knowledge of your potential and resources that can be used to enter the world of work.

  • Apprenticeship opportunities
The specialised operator of the Job Centre, based on your needs and characteristics, can propose a targeted internship experience, through which the person can gain practical experience within a company organisation.
  • Job offer-demand matching
The job offer-demand matching service is offered to people with disabilities who, on the basis of their work ability, autonomy in seeking employment, also following assessment by the special Commission, are considered capable of accessing this service (job placement targeted profile without support interventions).
At the Job Centres it is possible to obtain information on the companies discovered to which you can apply.
  • Socially useful work
In order to facilitate the insertion of weak individuals into the world of work, as well as to promote the social and work rehabilitation of individuals in socially disadvantaged situations, Agenzia del Lavoro supports the activation of socially useful initiatives promoted by Local Authorities and IPABs. Specific information for these types of users can be found in the Job Centres and the relevant applications can be submitted.
  • Specific training initiatives
At the Job Centre it is possible to obtain information on available training opportunities and to enrol in them.

Remember!

  • Among the services offered, the disabled person also has the possibility of consulting online the Employers' Information Prospectuses - L.68/1999.
Public and private employers subject to L.68/1999 are required to declare their employment situation and any shortfalls in relation to the recruitment obligations under L.68/1999 by sending the 'Informative Prospectus'.

The person can consult the L. 68/1999 Informative Prospectus online through the online consultation system of the summary table of the Informative Prospectuses shown among the Attached Documents, which allows compliance with the principle of publicity laid down by L. 68/99, art. 9, c. 6: the situation reported reflects what has been declared by the employers as at 31 December of the previous year.

When consulting the table online, it should be borne in mind that:

    - the situation reported reflects what was declared by the employers as at 31 December of the previous year, and is therefore not updated with the changes that occurred during the current year; e.g., on the occasion of recruitments, terminations, exemption authorisations, territorial offsets, transfers of activities, changes in the quota obligation, Programme Agreements or Agreements pursuant to Article 14 of Legislative Decree 276/2003 entered into, etc.

    - as from 2010, employers who have not undergone any changes affecting the calculation of the reserve quota are not required to send a new Information Prospectus each year; for this reason, therefore, some employers, although subject to the obligation under Law 68/1999, are not listed; the list of Information Prospectuses may include companies that have ceased to exist or employers who have ceased to comply with the obligation during the current year or who have suspended their obligations

    - for technical reasons, some information contained in the original prospectus is not included;

On this page, among the attachments, you can consult the summary table of the prospectuses.

What to do

To access job search services, the person with a disability must follow these steps

  1. register on the provincial list of persons with disabilities
To register on the provincial list of people with disabilities, it is necessary to:
    1. go to the Employment Centre in your area of residence with your disability record;
    2. present the application for registration and the relative declaration of immediate availability for work.
  2. conduct an interview at the Job Centre
After submitting the application for registration, the disabled person will be invited to an initial interview with the reference operator for targeted employment at the Job Centre in order to investigate his/her previous and current employment, training and personal situation.

The interview is important to gather information on the person's potential, work skills and aspirations, in order to draw up a report that will be forwarded to the Integrated Health Commission for the final report containing indications for job placement.

If the person is also followed by the local social worker, the first interview will be carried out by the Job Centre operator together with the social worker.

Afterwards, the person will be summoned to the O.U. which, after the visit, will draw up a final report, containing the type of job placement considered most suitable for the person's situation (Targeted placement without support interventions; Targeted placement with the support of a mediation service; Targeted placement with the support of a mediation service and with the use of technical tools; Training pathway preparatory to targeted placement; Pathway for the mentally disabled: job placement with a nominative request through conventions (art.11, Law no. 68/1999); Not employable; Pathway for complex socio-medical situations).

In the meantime, the person may seek employment: in this section some useful tools.
