Request for authorisation to employ minors in work in the entertainment sector

Description

The employment of minors in cultural, artistic, sports or advertising work and in the entertainment sector is subject to the issue of a special authorisation by the Employment Service.

The regulation of the matter is contained in Article 4 of Law no. 977 of 17/10/1967 entitled "Protection of the work of children and adolescents" (as amended by Legislative Decree no. 345 of 04/08/1999) and in Presidential Decree no. 365 of 20/04/1994.

The employment activities must not jeopardise the safety, psychophysical integrity and development of the child, school attendance or participation in vocational guidance or training programmes.

Authorisation may also cover the employment of children, i.e. minors who have not yet reached the age of 15; such authorisation is conditional on compliance with specific protection requirements.

The employment of minors may not extend beyond 24 hours, and they must have at least 14 consecutive hours of rest at the end of the service. In addition, specific requirements that are graduated according to the age of the minors concerned must be respected.

Documents to be submitted

Authorisation is granted upon submission of the appropriate form, duly completed. The following must be attached to the application

- the written consent of the holders of parental authority with attached copies of the identity documents of those giving consent together with a copy of the privacy policy signed by the same;

- consent of the school authority (if the intervention of minors takes place during school time)

- documentation indicating the nature and character of the performance/movie/television productions, as well as indications regarding the intervention of minors

- copy of an identity document of the applicant.

- 2 revenue stamps of €16.00, one for the application and one for the issue of the order.
