Authorisation for bibliographic discard

The Cultural Heritage Code (Legislative Decree no. 42 of 22 January 2004) includes bibliographic discarding among the activities subject to protection and requiring prior authorisation (Art. 21, c. 1, lett. d).
For the territory of the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Soprintendenza per i Beni Culturali, Ufficio Beni archivistici, librari e Archivio provinciale is the competent office to issue this authorisation.

- Territorial public authorities (Region, Province, Municipalities);
- Provincial Health Services Agency;
- educational and university institutions;
- other public bodies;
- private entities, natural or legal persons, owners of libraries or collections declared to be of exceptional cultural interest.

The application for authorisation to discard must be sent to the Technical Service Superintendence for Cultural Assets, Office for Archival and Book Assets and Provincial Archives, at serv.soprintendenza@pec.provincia.tn.it.
It must indicate the reasons behind the application and the objectives to be achieved, the criteria adopted for the selection of materials and the expected outcome.
The list of materials for which discarding is requested should also be attached.
