Honour for individual merits of expertise, industriousness and good moral conduct of employees of public or private enterprises

Description

The honour is conferred by Decree of the President of the Republic and is awarded on 1 May (Labour Day). The Employment Service is in charge of processing applications concerning the Province of Trento. By 14 February of the year in which the award is conferred, the applications (eight + two reserves) are sent to the Ministry of Labour, having been pre-selected by a Consultative Commission established annually by a decision of the Director of the Employment Service. Article 9 of Law 143/92 identifies the members of the Commission.

Who it's for

In order to be eligible for the decoration, applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. be an Italian citizen;
2. have reached their 50th year of age by the deadline for submitting the application
3. have been employed for a minimum and interrupted period of 25 documented years by the same company or by different companies, provided that the transfer from one company to another was not caused by personal demerits
4. having created inventions or innovations in the technical and productive field, improving the efficiency of tools, machines and working methods
5. having contributed in an original way to the improvement of work safety measures
6. having done their utmost to educate and prepare new generations in professional activity
7. have distinguished themselves by outstanding merits in terms of professionalism, skill, industriousness and good moral conduct.

The application may be submitted by the companies in which the workers concerned work; trade unions and welfare organisations; associations legally recognised at national level; the workers concerned.

What to do

The proposing party must complete and submit the form (found below) to the Employment Service by a deadline set annually by the Ministry of Employment (normally mid-October of the preceding year) complete with all the documentation listed on the form.
