Description
Article 1, Law No. 162 of 18 February 1992 established the right to remuneration and related contributions for employed and self-employed men and women engaged in mountain and speleological rescue work for the Italian Alpine Club (CAI).
Self-employed male and female workers in their capacity as volunteers of the Italian Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps of the Italian Alpine Club are entitled to receive an indemnity in the event that they have abstained from work on the days in which mountain and speleological rescue operations are carried out or during the relevant exercises, as well as on the day following the day of the rescue operations that lasted more than eight hours, i.e. beyond midnight.
The allowance for loss of income related to the days when they abstained from work is paid after applying for reimbursement to the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies (Article 3, Ministerial Decree No. 379 of 24 March 1994).
Restrictions
The application for reimbursement must be submitted to the Employment Service, under penalty of forfeiture, by the end of the month following the month in which the worker carried out the rescue operations or exercises.
