Description
the Province may enter into agreements, and subsequently grant aid, with qualified libraries meeting the following requirements
a) which have the character of a specialist library, as indicated in point 1.7 of Annex A) to the Regulation concerning the "Requirements, characteristics and services of the libraries of the Trentino Library System" approved by Decree of the President of the Province of 27 November 2012 no. 24-99/Leg. or have the character of a preservation library, as indicated in point 1.8 of the same Annex
b) which represent, on the basis of the documentary heritage accumulated over time and the professional competence and experience acquired in managing and making this heritage available to the public, an irreplaceable contribution to the entire Trentino Library System;
c) with regard to the documentary heritage, which tend to constitute an exhaustive source of access to specific areas of knowledge, not otherwise equally represented within the Trentino Library System, or whose main function is the preservation of bibliographic collections of documentary value and value, characterised by their originality, uniqueness or rarity, and by the identity link with cultural, associative or historical institutions, religious orders and other eminent local organisations, of which they represent the emanation and primary source of documentation (minimum 15.000 documents catalogued in the Trentino Bibliographic Catalogue database);
d) with regard to professional competence and experience, that they are established organisations that have been serving the public for at least 10 years and offer specialist consultancy services to the other libraries in the System, through staff qualified in accordance with the aforementioned Regulations
e) that carry out valorisation, study and publishing initiatives documented by means of a specific report referring to the year preceding the year in which the application is submitted
f) that undertake to adhere to the proposals of the Office for the Trentino Library System aimed at coordinating libraries.
2. Agreements must cover support for the following activities
- interventions aimed at fostering adequate conservation of the bibliographic heritage and its use
- interventions to support the increase of monographic, periodical and audiovisual collections and digital resources;
- personnel expenses;
- management expenses;
- enhancement initiatives (research activities, exhibitions, publications, conferences and the like).

Applications may be submitted from 2 to 30 November of the year preceding the year to which they relate.
