Article 21 ter of Provincial Law no. 15 of 3 October 2007 'Disciplina delle attività culturali' (Regulation of cultural activities) establishes the Provincial Register of Artists, entrusting the Provincial Council with the task of determining, by means of its own resolution, approved after obtaining the opinion of the competent permanent committee of the Provincial Council, the modalities for the keeping and functioning of the Register.
By Resolution No. 1781 of 21/11/2025, the Council approved the 'Criteria for the Registration, Operation and Control of the Provincial Register of Artists'.

Regional Law no. 4 of 20 November 2020, as amended and supplemented, provides for an intervention of a social security nature in favour of artists and is aimed at incentivising this category of workers to supplement their so-called first pillar with a supplementary social security system, constituting the legal basis for the processing of the data contained in the Register.
By Resolution No. 1804 of 21/11/2025, the Council appointed the Commission of Experts whose task is to assess the existence of the requirements for registration.
Entry in the Provincial Register is valid for five years. The year of validity starts from the date of adoption of the determination of the manager of the competent provincial service that orders the registration.
