Description
This aid is intended for the restoration of mountain pastures by recognising them as part of the cultural and natural heritage of agricultural holdings, identified as part of the mountain built heritage by Provincial Council Resolution No. 611 of 22 March 2002.
The grant is intended for the restoration and improvement of communal pastures and mountain pastures, and for the implementation of all works and services necessary to ensure or improve their management, including the relevant infrastructure, with a view to enhancing and protecting the pastures and the natural mountain environment. All this is intended to preserve the tradition of taking livestock to mountain pastures and to prevent their abandonment, which would inevitably have negative repercussions on the rural traditions of the farming community and on the care given to the delicate mountain environment and biodiversity.
In particular, measures relating to the functional adaptation of buildings:
- intended for staff accommodation, livestock shelter and associated outbuildings will be funded in accordance with EU Regulation 2022/2472;
- intended for the processing and sale of dairy products, including related ancillary structures, will be funded in accordance with the European Commission Regulation on ‘de minimis’ aid;
| The term ‘mountain pasture’ or “mountain pasture” refers to a system comprising the grazing area and the facilities for sheltering livestock and the staff responsible for their care. These areas are all situated at high altitudes, ranging from a minimum of 1,000 metres to a maximum of 2,500 metres above sea level, and are spread across the whole of Trentino, in its various valleys; they are predominantly publicly owned. The Trentino livestock farming system has always been characterised by a duration of approximately 80 to 110 days per year (from early June to mid-September). |
