TheProvincial Registerof Agricultural Enterprises (APIA), hereinafter referred to as ‘the Register’, is a tool for identifying and classifying those operating in the agricultural sector, with a view to achieving the objectives set out in provincial legislation and planning, as well as in national and European Union legislation.

The register is divided into Section One and Section Two.

Entrepreneurs, whether individuals or members of an association, who carry out agricultural activities and meet the following requirements may be registered inSection Oneof the register:

a) be registered in the Register of Companies referred to in Article 8 of Law No. 580 of 29 December 1993 (Reorganisation of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Agriculture), in the special section for agricultural entrepreneurs or small business owners as a farmer;

b) be registered with the National Social Security Institute (INPS) as an agricultural employer or agricultural worker;

c) possess sufficient professional competence;

d) carry out agricultural activities as their main occupation.

Within the first section, family-run farms practising direct cultivation are distinguished from other enterprises.

Entrepreneurs, whether individual or in partnership, who carry out agricultural activities and meet the following requirements may be registered inthe second sectionof the register:

a) be registered in the register of enterprises referred to in Article 8 of Law No. 580 of 29 December 1993 (Reorganisation of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Agriculture), in the special section for agricultural entrepreneurs or small entrepreneurs as a direct farmer;

b) possess sufficient professional competence;

c) devote at least 300 hours of work per year to agricultural activities.

By itsResolution No. 815 of 21 April 2006, the Provincial Executive approved the Regulations governing the establishment, maintenance and management of the Provincial Register of Agricultural Enterprises(A.P.I.A.) in implementation of Chapter II of Provincial Law No. 11/2000, Article 9, and consequently also theformsrequired for registration, amendments and deregistration with the Provincial Register of Agricultural Enterprises. 

These forms address the need to standardise the information relating to farms in line with other administrative procedures, with the aim of promoting administrative simplification and reducing the burden on users.

To register with APIA, you must have an up-to-date farm dossier (i.e. a validated one). This is amandatory prerequisitefor initiating registration and amendment procedures.

Those interested must therefore,priorto submitting an application or notifying an update to their business details, ensure that their business file is created or updated at one ofthe Agricultural Assistance Centres (CAA)authorised by the Autonomous Province of Trento.
